Name, Address, Section, Township, Range, Subdivision, & Assessment Number.
- How is property assessed?
By a percent of fair market value, as follows: House @ 10%, Land @ 10%, Personal Property @ 15%, Public Service @ 25%.
- How many acres can be covered under Homestead Exemption?
160 acres, as long as the total assessed value of house and land do not exceed $75,000.
- What are the requirements for signing Homestead Exemption?
You must own & live in your own home or mobile home, either on your land, or someone else's land.
- Does Homestead Exemption have to be renewed every year?
No. Homestead exemption is permanent as long as ownership and occupancy have not changed.
- Does (a named individual) own property in DeSoto Parish?
